Diamond Dawgs Beat Ole Miss 6-3 In 1st Round of SEC Tournament
The Georgia Bulldogs, losers of 13 of their last 17 games, beat the Ole Miss Rebels 6-3 in the first round of the SEC Baseball Tournament Wednesday. Justin Grimm (3-4) earned the win for the Bulldogs, their first in a first round game since 2001.
In the sixth inning, UGA outfielder Matt Cerione hit a grand slam to give the Dawgs a 4-1 lead over the Rebels. The Dawgs went on to beat Ole Miss, who shared the regualr season SEC title with the LSU Tigers.
The Dawgs (36-20) will play Arkansas today at 6:00 p.m. ET. (CSS). Trevor Holder (7-4, 4.68 ERA) will start for the Bulldogs.
