Bulldogs Beat Miami and Stanford In 2008 College World Series

Foley Field

Georgia continued their postseason push with a 4-3 win over the Stanford Cardinal on Monday night in the 2008 College World Series. On Saturday, the Diamond Dawgs defeated the no. 1 ranked Miami Hurricanes 7-4. Georgia, now 2-0 in the CWS, will face the winner of the Miami-Stanford game on Friday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. (ESPN2).

Looking ahead at the NCAA Bracket, Georgia faces the following scenarios:

If Georgia wins on Friday, they will advance to the Championship round to face either Fresno State, LSU, North Carolina or Rice.

If Georgia loses on Friday, they will face that same team (Miami or Stanford) on Saturday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. (or 6:00 p.m. if it is the only game played that day). The winner of that game will advance to the Champonship round and the losing team is eliminated.
