Three Diamond Dawgs Taken In 1st Day Of 2007 MLB Draft

One current Georgia Junior and two Georgia baseball signees were selected on Day 1 of the 2007 MLB Draft. Outfielder Ben Revere, who signed with the Dawgs in November 2006, was taken as the 29th pick in the 1st round by the Minnesota Twins.

A second November UGA signee, Isaiah Froneberger from Forest Park High School, was selected in the 4th round (132nd) by the Colorado Rockies.

Current Georgia Junior right-handed closer Joshua Fields was picked 69th (2nd round) by the hometown Atlanta Braves. Fields career stats at the University of Georgia included a 7-9 record, 23 saves and a 3.90 ERA.
