Peyton Woodring named to 2026 Lou Groza Award Watch List

Georgia senior placekicker Peyton Woodring has been named to the 2026 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Watch List, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced Friday.

The Lou Groza Award, named in honor of legendary NFL kicker Lou Groza, is presented annually to college football’s top placekicker.

Woodring, a Lafayette, La., native, delivered one of the nation’s most consistent seasons in 2025, converting 17 of 19 field goal attempts (89%) and finishing a perfect 54-for-54 on extra points. His performance earned him Lou Groza Award semifinalist recognition for the second straight year, along with Second Team All-SEC honors from both the Coaches and the Associated Press.

Georgia, the back-to-back SEC champion, opens its 2026 campaign on Saturday, September 5, hosting Tennessee State at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. ET, and the game will stream exclusively on SEC Network+.
