Michigan long snapper Colton Dermer commits to Georgia
Georgia has added another commitment to its 2026 recruiting class, this one from long snapper Colton Dermer out of Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Glendale, Ariz.

Dermer, who stands 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds, signed with the Michigan Wolverines in December during the early signing period, but was released following the dismissal of head coach Sherrone Moore.
Colton Dermer’s flip to Georgia gives the Bulldogs one of the top specialist prospects in the 2026 class, and it’s a quietly significant addition for a program that values elite play in the hidden‑yardage phase of the game. He’s rated as a three‑star composite long snapper and the No. 9 player at his position, but specialist evaluators are even higher on him—Kohl’s Kicking ranks him as a five‑star and the No. 6 long snapper nationally. Their scouting report describes him as a “freak” in the class, praising his tight rotation, velocity, athleticism, and rare combination of size and movement skills, including a verified 4.93 forty‑yard dash.
For Georgia, Dermer represents long‑term stability at a position that rarely draws headlines but often decides games. Kirby Smart has consistently invested in elite specialists, and Dermer fits that mold: technically polished, physically advanced, and capable of contributing for years. His commitment also underscores Georgia’s ability to capitalize on late‑cycle movement and strengthen the roster in every phase. It’s not the flashiest recruiting win, but it’s the kind that championship programs stack quietly—and benefit from when it matters.
