Georgia announces 2021-22 non-conference basketball schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs announced their full non-conference basketball schedule for 2021-22 on Wednesday, which includes home games against Georgia Tech and Memphis.
“Each season, our priority is to build a schedule that will prepare us for conference play,” head coach Tom Crean said. “I believe we have done just that. We’ve had an excellent summer building chemistry and camaraderie among our returnees and newcomers. This schedule will challenge us and also allow us to grow before we begin SEC play in January.”
Georgia will open their 2021-22 non-conference slate on Tuesday, November 9 at home in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., against Florida International.
Other opponents scheduled to visit Stegeman Coliseum this season include South Carolina State (Nov. 16), Georgia Tech (Nov. 19), Wofford (Nov. 28), Memphis (Dec. 1), Jacksonville (Dec. 7), George Mason (Dec. 18), Western Carolina (Dec. 20), ETSU (Dec. 22), and Gardner-Webb (Dec. 29).
The Bulldogs will travel to face the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, Nov. 13, which will be their only true road game in non-conference play.
Georgia is also scheduled to compete in the 2021 Legends Classic at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021. Georgia will face Virginia in the first round, followed by either Providence or Northwestern in the championship or consolation game.
Georgia’s SEC opponents for the 2021-22 season were announced last month. The Bulldogs will host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
Road SEC contests for Georgia in 2021-22 include Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
