Georgia football quarterback Gunner Stockton has been named to the Davey O’Brien Davey O’Brien Great 8 list following his performance in the Bulldogs’ 38-14 win over Vanderbilt.
In the victory, Stockton completed 25-of-32 passes (74.2%) for 295 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also rushed for 22 yards.
The Davey O’Brien Foundation committee elected to utilize its “Davey Double” for Week 5, meaning that 16 quarterbacks have been named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 list.
Other quarterbacks on this week’s Davey O’Brien Great 8 list were Braden Atkinson (Oregon State), Cameran Brown (Georgia State), CJ Carr (Notre Dame), Anthony Colandrea (Nebraska), Ashton Daniels (Florida State), Jared Hollins (South Alabama), Josh Hoover (Indiana), Colton Joseph (Wisconsin), DJ Lagway (Baylor), Gio Lopez (Wake Forest), Amari Odom (Syracuse), Keelon Russell (Alabama), Julian Sayin (Ohio State), Austin Simmons (Missouri), and Marcus Stokes (Memphis).
Gunner Stockton, a native of Tiger, Ga., played for Rabun County High School and signed with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2022.
Georgia’s next game is on Saturday, October 10 on the road against the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide. The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
