The Georgia Bulldogs, who lost to the Auburn Tigers 27-24 on Saturday, have dropped in the college football rankings for Week 8.
Georgia dropped four spots to No. 5 in the AP Poll following the devastating loss to the Tigers. The Bulldogs received 1,382 points in the AP Poll, which is 363 less points than they received in last week’s poll.
The Top 5 of the AP Poll is now (1) Miami, (2) BYU, (3) Ohio State, (4), Notre Dame, and (5) Georgia.
In the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs dropped three spots to No. 4.
Georgia’s drop was steep but unsurprising given the context: Auburn entered the game unranked, and the Bulldogs had previously won 53 straight games against unranked opponents — a streak that ended on a walk-off Tigers field goal.
