Lawson Luckie named to Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List

Georgia football senior tight end Lawson Luckie has been named to the 2026 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List, it was announced Thursday.

The Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award is given annually to the college football player who has “…demonstrated a record of leadership by exhibiting exceptional courage, integrity and sportsmanship both on and off the field.”

Luckie is one of 89 candidates named to the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List this season. Each candidate was nominated by their school.

“It is an incredible honor to announce this group of young men as the watch list for the Collegiate Man of the Year,” said Witten. “These student-athletes have all demonstrated exceptional leadership, often in the face of adversity, and are perfect examples of what the sport of college football is all about.”

20 semifinalists for the award will be announced on Tuesday, October 13, followed by the announcement of the three finalists on Monday, December 14. The winner of the 2026 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award will be announced at a ceremony in Spring of 2027.

Lawson Luckie (6-4, 2405) hails from Norcross, Ga. Luckie was selected to the preseason All-SEC Second Team by the SEC Media, the SEC Coaches, and Athlon. He was also tabbed to preseason watchlists for the John Mackey Award and the Wuerffel Trophy.

Georgia’s next game is on Saturday, September 12 at home against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by the SEC Network at 12:45pm ET (Buy Tickets).
