Georgia football will debut new white uniforms this season against Western Kentucky, which will feature white helmets, white jerseys, and white pants for the first time in history.
Georgia is scheduled to host Western Kentucky on Saturday, September 12 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by the SEC Network at 12:45pm ET.

Georgia has been extremely selective about alternate uniforms under Kirby Smart, sticking almost exclusively to the classic red tops and silver britches at home. The Bulldogs haven’t worn an alternate look in nearly half a decade, with the last appearance coming in the 2021 Peach Bowl vs. Cincinnati, when Georgia brought back its modern black jerseys for a postseason “blackout.”
The black jerseys themselves have an even more limited history. Smart first reintroduced them in 2016 vs. Louisiana‑Lafayette, marking the first black‑jersey game since 2008. Despite strong fan approval, Georgia has not worn that style of black jersey again since that 2016 debut.
Red pants—one of the rarest looks in Georgia’s entire uniform catalog—have appeared only once under Smart. In 2020 at Arkansas, Georgia wore throwback road uniforms honoring the 1980 national championship team, complete with solid block lettering, striped shoulders, and red pants reminiscent of Herschel Walker’s era. That combination has never been worn again.
Georgia also briefly ventured into more experimental alternates during the Nike Pro Combat era, most notably the red‑on‑red jersey/pants combo with a silver helmet worn in the 2011 opener against Boise State. The look was widely criticized and has not returned since.
The Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2026 season on Saturday, September 5 against the Tennessee State Tigers at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will kickoff at 3:00pm ET and will be a streaming-only event on SEC Network+.
