2026 Georgia football schedule ranked 18th toughest by Phil Steele

The 2026 Georgia football schedule has been ranked as the 18th toughest schedule in the country this season, according to college football pundit Phil Steele.

Georgia’s schedule is listed as the ninth toughest in the SEC by Steele, behind Texas (1), Arkansas (2), Oklahoma, (3) Mississippi State (4), Florida (5), Kentucky, (6), LSU (7), and Ole Miss (8).

Georgia, ranked No. 3 in ESPN’s preseason 25, opens the 2026 season on Saturday, September 5 against the Tennessee State Tigers at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The following week on Sept. 12, Georgia welcomes the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to Athens.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to open SEC action on Saturday, Sept. 19 on the road against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Georgia will then play consecutive home contests against the No. 13 Oklahoma Sooners on Sept. 26 and the Vanderbilt Commodores on October 3.

Next, Georgia makes the trip to take on the No. 16 Alabama Crimson Tide on Oct. 10 before returning to Sanford Stadium to host the Auburn Tigers on Oct. 17. Georgia then gets its only bye week of the season on Oct. 24.

The Bulldogs will be the home team next season against the Florida Gators, and the contest will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 31. The location change is due to renovations at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.

Following the Florida game, Georgia will travel to take on the No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels on November 7, host the Missouri Tigers on Nov. 14, and then visit the South Carolina Gamecocks on Nov. 21.

Georgia’s final regular-season game is its annual non-conference contest against the in-state rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. That game will be played in Athens on Saturday, Nov. 28.

The 2026 SEC Championship Game is slated for Saturday, Dec. 5 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and the contest will be televised by ABC. The matchup will feature the top two teams in the conference standings.
