Waylon Wooten, a three-star defensive lineman, has committed to Georgia football for the class of 2027.
Wooten, who plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., chose the Bulldogs over Ohio State, Florida, and several other top schools.
At 6-foot-1, 315 pounds, Wooten is a three-star prospect across major recruiting services, ranking as the No. 96 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 975 overall recruit according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Committing to the Bulldogs has long been on Wooten’s mind.
“That’s been a dream since I was a kid,” Wooten told UGASports earlier in May. “Walking around with a Georgia helmet on as a baby, it wouldn’t be nothing like it. I’d love to play for their defense.”
Waylon Wooten is the eighth commitment for the Georgia Bulldogs for the 2027 class and first defensive lineman. He joins five-star running back Kemon Spell, four-star offensive lineman Kelsey Adams, three-star offensive linemen Abram Eisenhower, Ty Johnson, Noah Parker, three-star wide receiver Aden Starling, and three-star linebacker Temorris Campbell Jr.
