Georgia football has turned the page in the trenches, naming Phil Rauscher as the program’s new offensive line coach following the departure of veteran assistant Stacy Searels.
Rauscher arrived in Athens prior to the 2025 season with a strong résumé built across both the college and NFL ranks. Known for his technical teaching style and ability to develop versatile linemen, he’s earned a reputation as a detail‑driven coach who elevates units quickly.
Prior to arriving in Athens, Rauscher was the offensive line coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2022 through 2023, before adding run game coordinator duties in 2024.
With Searels stepping down, Rauscher inherits a group capable of anchoring another championship push. His challenge will be blending returning veterans with emerging young players while continuing the physical, disciplined style that has defined Georgia’s offensive front under Kirby Smart.
Smart offered kind words for Searels on Tuesday following the announcement.
“We’re grateful for everything Coach Searels has poured into our program over the past several seasons,” Smart said. “His knowledge, experience and steady leadership have been instrumental to our offensive production. In his new role, Stacy will continue to impact our offensive strategy and provide mentorship for both our staff and players.”
Last season, Rauscher held the title of Quality Control Coordinator, while also helping Searles on the field during practices.
“Phil has been a tremendous asset to our staff and players,” Smart said. “He has earned this opportunity through his work ethic, technical expertise and his ability to connect with our players. We’re excited about the future of our offensive line under his leadership.”
