The Georgia Bulldogs and North Carolina Tar Heels have scheduled a home-and-home basketball series for the 2026-27 and 2028-29 seasons, the school officially announced Tuesday.
In the first game of the series, Georgia will travel to take on North Carolina at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Friday, Nov. 13, 2026. The series will conclude when the Bulldogs host the Tar Heels at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on date to be determined in November or December of 2028.
Georgia and North Carolina have played 18 times previously, with the Tar Heels leading the overall series 13-5. In their most recent meeting in the 1998 Chase Pre-Season NIT, Georgia fell on the road, 65-58.
The Bulldogs claimed a victory in their most significant matchup with the Tar Heels, winning 82-77 in the final of the East Regional of the 1983 NCAA Tournament.
Georgia basketball is 9-1 so far this season and is ranked No. 25 in the latest AP Poll. The Hoop Dawgs are next scheduled to host the Western Carolina Catamounts on Thursday, Dec. 18. The game will tip off at 7:00pm ET with streaming coverage via the SEC Network+.
