The Georgia Bulldogs have held their position in the AP Poll following their 28-7 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.
Georgia (12-1) remained No. 3 as a result of the win, while Alabama (10-3) dropped one spot to No. 11. Indiana, undefeated at 13-0 and the Big Ten champion, is now the top-ranked team in the country.
As the SEC champion and third-ranked team, Georgia will advance to the College Football Playoff and, as one of the likely top four seeds, should receive a first round bye. That means Georgia’s first game in the playoff should be in the quarterfinals at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.
The second edition of the 12-team College Football Playoff field is set to be revealed today beginning at 12:00pm ET on ESPN. The remainder of the CFP rankings and bowl schedule will also be revealed this afternoon.
