The Georgia Bulldogs will play in the 2025 SEC Championship Game, the conference officially announced late Saturday evening.
Georgia (11-1, 7-1 SEC) qualified for the SEC Championship Game following the result of Friday’s contest between Texas and Texas A&M in Austin, Texas. The Bulldogs punched their ticket to the title game after the Texas Longhorns defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 27-17. Georgia finished up its SEC slate two weeks ago with a 35-10 victory at home over Texas.
In the SEC Championship Game, Georgia will face the Alabama Crimson Tide if they defeat the Auburn Tigers Saturday evening (7:30pm ET, ABC). If the Crimson Tide fall to the Tigers, the Bulldogs will take on the Ole Miss Rebels in Atlanta.
Georgia fell to Alabama at home earlier this season, 24-21. The Bulldogs defeated Ole Miss at home three weeks later, 43-35. However, Ole Miss could enter the SEC Championship Game without its head coach, Lane Kiffin, who is expected to announce a decision tomorrow on either staying with the Rebels or leaving to assume the head coach position with the LSU Tigers.
The 2025 SEC Championship Game is set for Saturday, Dec. 6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC at 4:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
