Georgia football junior quarterback Gunner Stockton has been named the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week following his performance in the Bulldogs’ 43-35 win at home against Ole Miss.
In the comeback win, Stockton completed 26-of-31 passes for 289 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. He also rushed 10 times for 59 yards and one touchdown.
Stockton, who was also named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, finished the game with a 96.9 quarterback rating
Other quarterbacks on this week’s Davey O’Brien Great 8 list were Alonza Barnett III (James Madison), Ryder Burton (UAB), Drew Mestemaker (North Texas), Miller Moss (Louisville),
Diego Pavia (Vanderbilt), Julian Sayin (Ohio State), and Conner Weigman (Houston).
On the season, Gunner Stockton has completed 141-of-200 passes (71%) for a total of 1,553 yards and 10 touchdowns. Stockton has also amassed 279 yards on the ground and seven rushing touchdowns.
Following a bye this weekend, Georgia’s next game is on Saturday, Nov. 1 against the Florida Gators at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The game will be televised by ABC at 3:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
