The Georgia Bulldogs will learn their SEC football opponents for the 2026 through 2029 seasons on Tuesday, according to an announcement from the league Friday.

The SEC opponents for 2026 through 2029 will be announced Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7:00pm ET during a special edition of SEC Now on ESPN2 and the SEC Network.

The 2026 season will mark the first for the SEC with a nine conference game format. SEC teams will play nine conference members and three non-conference opponents each season. As it has been since 2016, one of those three non-conference opponents is required to be a power opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 or major independent (i.e. Notre Dame).

Each SEC team will be assigned three permanent opponents, or rivals, that they will play each season. The remaining six opponents will rotate each season so that each SEC school plays every other team in the league in a four-year span. For Georgia, its permanent opponents will most likely be Auburn and Florida, with the third team being either Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee or Vanderbilt.

Georgia has three non-conference opponents set for the 2026 season that were previously announced. The Bulldogs are slated to host the WKU Hilltoppers on Sept. 12, visit the Louisville Cardinals on Sept. 19, and host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Nov. 28.

A fourth non-conference opponent for Georgia, the Tennessee State Tigers, was reported last month but has not been finalized. That game could have been tentatively set in case the SEC did not opt to play nine conference games, or it could be a replacement for the WKU or Louisville contests. It’s possible that announcement will also come Tuesday.

If not, it will likely be discovered through open records requests prior to the release of the complete 2026 SEC football schedule in December. The past few seasons, the league has released the schedule the week after the SEC Championship Game.
