Quinn, Curley selected on first day of 2025 MLB Draft

ATHENS – University of Georgia pitchers JT Quinn and Brian Curley will begin their professional careers after being selected on the first day of the 2025 MLB Draft.
Quinn was selected in the Competitive Balance Round B with the 69th overall pick to the Baltimore Orioles. With the 92nd pick, Curley’s name was called as the Arizona Diamondbacks used their third-round selection.
Quinn, a native of Tampa, Fla., made 17 appearances including seven starts for the Bulldogs in 2025. He posted a 1-1 record, 2.75 ERA and one save in 36 innings with 16 walks and 49 strikeouts. The right-hander held opponents to a .184 batting average.
The 6-6, 210 pounder recorded a season-high 4.0 innings with six strikeouts twice in the postseason against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. He earned a win over Texas A&M after tossing 3.2 innings of relief and allowing one run on two hits with seven strikeouts.
Curley, a Midlothian, Va. native, made 17 appearances with 10 starts for the Bulldogs. He finished the 2025 season with a 4-4 record and two saves. Curley recorded a 3.55 ERA in 66 innings with a team-high 85 strikeouts.
The right-hander began the season as a late-inning option then moved into the starting rotation in mid-March, earning All-SEC Second Team honors after going 3-3 with a 3.66 ERA in league play. He tallied wins over Florida Gulf Coast, at No. 13 Florida, at Missouri and No. 23 Alabama.
Curley was previously a 16th round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2024 MLB Draft.
Quinn and Curley are the first Bulldogs to be selected by the Orioles and the Diamondbacks since the 2009 MLB Draft. Baltimore selected Jeff Walters in the 17th round, and the Diamondbacks took Will Harvil in the 32nd.
The Bulldogs have a string of 52 straight seasons with at least one player signing a professional contract. Also, Georgia has had at least one player drafted each year going back to 1987.
