The date has been set for the annual Georgia-Georgia Tech basketball game in 2025, according to an announcement Friday.
Georgia will host Georgia Tech in the basketball edition of “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
Georgia and Georgia Tech have met 200 times in a series that began with a pair of games during the 1905-06 season. Those two games against the Yellow Jackets were the only two contests Georgia played that season.
Last season, the Bulldogs defeated the Yellow Jackets, 77-69, at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, Ga. Georgia has won two consecutive games against Georgia Tech, but the Yellow Jackets still lead the overall series 107-93.
UGA is scheduled to open the 2025-26 season at home against the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Other non-conference opponents currently known include Morehead State on Nov. 9, Western Carolina on Dec. 18, and West Georgia on Dec. 22, all at Stegeman Coliseum.
Georgia will also compete in the 2025 Charleston Classic along with Clemson, West Virginia, and Xavier. That tournament is slated for Nov. 21 through Nov. 23.
The 2025-26 season will be the fourth for Georgia under head coach Mike White. The Bulldogs finished the 2024-25 season 20-13 overall (8-10 SEC) and played in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
