2026 in-state offensive lineman Zach Lewis commits to Georgia

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs continue their dominance on the recruiting trail, securing yet another significant commitment for the class of 2026. This time, it’s talented interior offensive lineman Zach Lewis from North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia, who announced his pledge to the Dawgs fresh off his official visit to Athens this past weekend.

Lewis is rated as a three-star prospect, but he is just now growing into his frame, adding valuable depth and potential to an offensive line unit that has been pivotal in Georgia’s recent national championship runs. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman brings exactly the kind of physicality and technical skill that Bulldog offensive line coach Stacy Searels prioritizes.
The timing of Lewis’s commitment couldn’t have been better for the Bulldogs. Just days after experiencing firsthand the unmatched atmosphere and close-knit culture in Athens, Lewis decided to end his recruitment and join what is shaping up to be another elite recruiting class for the University of Georgia. His commitment underscores Georgia’s sustained success in locking down in-state talent and further solidifies its growing reputation as a prime destination for top offensive linemen.
Georgia fans can thank former Dawg offensive lineman and fellow North Gwinnett Bulldog Warren Ericson for playing a big part in Lewis’s recruitment. Ericson is the assistant offensive line coach to Georgia’s Stacy Searels. That relationship, plus the coaxing of fellow in-state OL commit Graham Houston (Buford, GA), made it an easy decision for Lewis. Also, Lewis has stated publicly that he’s a lifelong Georgia fan.
The Bulldogs managed to fend off several other high-profile programs that had shown interest in Lewis, including Georgia Tech, Florida, and Alabama. Ultimately, the allure of competing for national championships, combined with Georgia’s proven track record of developing NFL-caliber linemen and the relationships above, won out.
As Georgia continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2026 class, the commitment of Zach Lewis offers further evidence that Kirby Smart and his staff remain relentless in their pursuit of excellence, but also in pursuit of quality players who want to be a Georgia Bulldog first and foremost. Bulldog Nation can look forward to seeing another talented in-state player don the red and black, ready to uphold the tradition of championship-caliber football in Athens.
