Kealan Jones, a standout safety from Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia, has announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs, giving Kirby Smart and his staff another in-state blue-chip talent in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Jones becomes the sixth prospect to join Georgia’s 2026 class and the second safety, linking up with fellow defensive back Zech Fort out of IMG Academy. His decision continues a clear trend for the Bulldogs—stacking the roster with homegrown talent. Georgia signed a record number of in-state recruits in the previous class, and Jones’ pledge shows the momentum hasn’t slowed down.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Jones is a physical, instinctive defender who thrives in both man coverage and run support. As a junior, he totaled 42 tackles, broke up four passes, and intercepted four others—showing the kind of ball skills and anticipation that have made him a coveted national recruit. His standout performance against Lassiter, where he notched five tackles and two interceptions, only boosted his profile among Power Five programs.
While several major programs, including Michigan, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Duke, were in the running, Jones opted to stay close to home and become a Bulldog. That choice reinforces Georgia’s dominance on the recruiting trail within the state—a key emphasis of Kirby Smart’s long-term strategy.
Jones’ commitment further shores up a young secondary that Georgia is already preparing for the future. With the 2026 class still in its early stages, the addition of Jones gives the Bulldogs a high-upside defender who fits their defensive identity: fast, physical, and smart.
