Demary Jr.’s 26 points leads Bulldogs past Texas, 83-67

AUSTIN, Texas — The Georgia Bulldogs (18-11, 6-10 SEC) cruised past the Texas Longhorns (16-13, 5-11 SEC), 83-67, on Saturday night at the Moody Center. Four scorers reached double figures headlined by sophomore guard Silas Demary Jr.’s career-high 26 points on the night.

• After Demary Jr.’s 26-point performance, sophomore guard Blue Cain followed with 13 points while graduate guard Dakota Leffew and freshman forward Asa Newell finished with 11 and 10, respectively.
• The win marks the Bulldogs’ first conference road victory of the season.
• Demary Jr. posted his third 20+ point outing of the season and the fourth of his career, averaging 20.5 points-per-game in his last six games.

• Georgia shot 51.8 percent from the field on the night, marking the third-highest team output in a road conference game under head coach Mike White.

“Confidence spreads, it just does,” head coach Mike White said. “We’re doing a little bit more off the ball than we were. But for the most part, I just think it’s just collectively, these guys have bought into making simple plays, hitting singles, passing it better, holding seals better, playing off two feet, all the little things that lead to value in the basketball at a higher rate.”
