Georgia finishes outside the top five in final AP Poll for 2024 season

The Georgia Bulldogs have finished outside the top five in the final AP Top 25 Poll of the 2024 season, settling in at No. 6.

Georgia finished the season 11-3 overall after falling to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on January 2, 2025. The Bulldogs entered the game ranked second, but dropped four spots to sixth.

The Ohio State Buckeyes finished No. 1 in the AP Poll after they defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 34-23 to win the College Football Playoff National Championship. The Buckeyes finished their championship season 14-2 and claimed their first title under head coach Ryan Day.

Runner-up Notre Dame finished second in the final AP Top 25 rankings. Oregon, Texas, and Penn State round out the final top five. Check out the complete rankings below.

Georgia is scheduled to open the 2025 season against the Marshall Thundering Herd at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Bulldogs host Austin Peay the following week on Sept. 6 before opening SEC action on the road on Sept. 13 against Tennessee.
