Fort (5-10, 190) committed to the Bulldogs over offers from most of the top schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and several others.
In the 247Sports Composite, Zech Fort is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 8 safety, and the No. 104 overall recruit in the country for 2026.
Rivals.com rates Zech Fort as a four-star recruit and the No. 21 player in the state of Georgia.
UGASports.com credited the UGA defensive back coaching duo of Travaris Robinson and Donte Williams for landing Fort’s commitment.
“I have a great relationship with Coach Donte and Coach T-Rob. Coach Donte recruited me while he was at USC ever since I was in the eighth grade going into ninth grade,” Fort told UGASports last summer. “Coach T-Rob was recruiting me while he was at Alabama so I am very close to both of those guys at the defensive back position. It is almost like I have family ties there.”
With the addition of Zech Fort, Georgia now has five commitments for the class of 2026. UGA’s class is now ranked 12th in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
