The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Texas Longhorns in the 2024 SEC Championship Game, the conference officially announced late Saturday evening.

Georgia (10-2, 6-2 SEC) qualified for the SEC Championship Game following the results of last week’s conference contests. The Bulldogs punched their ticket to the title game after the Oklahoma Sooners upset the Alabama Crimson Tide, 24-3, and the Auburn Tigers defeated the Texas A&M Aggies in quadruple overtime, 43-41.

In the SEC Championship Game next week, Georgia will face the Texas Longhorns for the second time this season. Texas defeated arch-rival Texas A&M earlier on Saturday, 17-7, to earn its spot in the championship game.

Georgia will be the visiting team and will wear white jerseys, while Texas will be the home team.

In week 8 of the 2024 season, Georgia traveled to Austin, Texas, and defeated the Texas Longhorns, 30-15.

On Black Friday, the Georgia Bulldogs outlasted the in-state rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in an eight-overtime contest, emerging with a 44-42 victory. The win improved Georgia’s regular-season record to 10-2 and may have cemented a College Football Playoff spot for the Bulldogs regardless of the result in the SEC Championship Game.

The 2024 SEC Championship Game is set for Saturday, Dec. 7 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC and streamed live via ESPN+ at 4:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
