The Georgia Bulldogs have moved up in the AP Poll following their 22-19 overtime win over the Texas Longhorns in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.

Georgia (12-1) moved up three spots to No. 2 as a result of the win, while Texas (11-2) dropped two spots to No. 4. Oregon, undefeated at 13-0 and the Big Ten champion, remains the top-ranked team in the country.

As the SEC champion, Georgia will advance to the College Football Playoff and, as one of the top four teams, should receive a first round bye. That means Georgia’s first game in the playoff should be in the quarterfinals at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.

The inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff field is set to be revealed today beginning at 12:00pm ET on ESPN. The remainder of the CFP rankings and bowl schedule will also be revealed this afternoon.
