Vance Spafford, a four-star wide receiver from Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, Calif., has committed to UGA football for the class of 2026.

Head coach Kirby Smart posted his usual response to his X/Twitter account after hearing the news of Spafford’s commitment.

“I took visits to other places and I thought they were great, I had a great time there, but there was something that was missing,” Spafford told UGASports.com. “I felt the thing that was missing was there at Georgia. After about three weeks I continued to feel like that, this is the right move.”

Spafford (5-11, 175) committed to the Bulldogs over offers from most of the top schools, including Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, TCU, Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin.

In the 247Sports Composite, Vance Spafford is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 10 wide receiver, and the No. 65 overall recruit in the country for 2026.

Rivals.com also rates Vance Spafford as a four-star recruit, the No. 5 wide receiver, and the No. 37 overall recruit in the country for 2026.

With the addition of Vance Spafford Georgia now has three commitments for the class of 2026. UGA’s class for that year is currently ranked 13th in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
