Beau Gardner named 2024 Patrick Mannelly Award finalist
UGA football long snapper Beau Gardner has been named a finalist for the 2024 Patrick Mannelly Award, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission has announced.
The award is named after Patrick Mannelly, who is widely regarded as the best long snapper in the modern NFL era. It’s given annually to the nation’s best long snapper in college football.
Gardner (6-5, 258), who hails from San Francisco, Calif., graduated from UCLA and transferred to UGA earlier this year. He has snapped for the Bulldogs on Georgia’s 60 combined field goal attempts and point after attempts (PATs) this season.
Gardner has also snapped for Georgia punter Brett Thorson, helping him to a 46.3 yard average (43.6 net).
The Georgia Bulldogs (9-2, 6-2 SEC) are next scheduled to host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Nov. 29 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
