Malaki Starks named 2024 Lott IMPACT Trophy quarterfinalist

UGA football junior safety Malaki Starks has been named one of 16 quarterfinalists for the 2024 Lott IMPACT Trophy, The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced on Thursday.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded annually to “…the student-athlete who best exhibits the characteristics of Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT on and off the field. IMPACT is an acronym for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.”

Semifinalists for the 2024 Lott IMPACT Trophy will be chosen in late November with finalists in December. The finalists will be invited to attend the annual Lott IMPACT Trophy award show on December 9, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Starks, a native of Jefferson, Ga., leads the Bulldogs in tackles this season with 32 stops through six games, including a pair of tackles for loss. He also intercepted a pass in the season-opener against the Clemson Tigers in Atlanta, Ga.

Fifth-ranked Georgia (5-1, 3-1 SEC) and top-ranked Texas (6-0, 2-0 SEC) will square off on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
