UGA football linebacker Raylen Wilson has been named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3 of the 2024 season, the SEC announced on Monday.
Raylen Wilson was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in Georgia’s 13-12 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, Ky. Wilson recorded five tackles, including a sack that resulted in a 28-yard loss and a forced fumble.
Wilson, a 6-foot-1, 235-pound sophomore, hails from Tallahassee, Fla. He was an SEC All-Freshman Team selection last year.
Raylen Wilson shares this week’s award with LSU defensive end Bradyn Swinson, who had five tackles and three sacks for a total loss of 23 yards in their win on the road against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Georgia will enjoy its first open date of the season this weekend. The following week on Saturday, Sept. 28, the Bulldogs travel to face the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
