Georgia remains first in AP, Coaches polls after Tennessee Tech win

The Georgia Bulldogs, who defeated the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles 48-3 on Saturday, have remained first in the AP and Coaches polls for Week 3.

Georgia received 1,566 points in the AP Poll, which is 21 more than it received in the Week 2 poll. The Bulldogs lost three first-place votes and now have 54.

Texas moved up to No. 2 in the AP Poll and has four first-place votes, while No. 3 Ohio State has the remaining five first-place votes. Alabama and Ole Miss round out the top five in the AP Poll.

In the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs received 1,346 points, which is 25 points less than last week. Georgia also lost a first-place vote and now has 50, with the other votes going to Ohio State (3) and Texas (1).

The Bulldogs’ next game is their SEC-opener on Saturday, Sept. 14 on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats (1-1, 0-1 SEC) at Kroger Field in Lexington, Ky. The game will be televised by ABC and streamed via ESPN+ at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
