Delp, Yurosek named to 2024 John Mackey Award Watch List
UGA football tight ends Oscar Delp and Ben Yurosek have both been named to the 2024 John Mackey Award Watch List, The Friends of John Mackey have announced.
The two Georgia Bulldogs join 46 other tight ends on the 2024 John Mackey list. The award is given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end.
Other SEC tight ends named to the 2024 John Mackey Award Watch List include Mason Taylor (LSU), Caden Prieskorn (Ole Miss), Donovan Green (Texas A&M), CJ Dippre (Alabama), Rivaldo Fairweather (Auburn), Amari Niblack (Texas), Brett Norfleet (Missouri), Daequan Wright (Ole Miss), Arlis Boardingham (Florida), and Luke Hasz (Arkansas).
The winner of the 2024 John Mackey Award will be announced in December and then presented at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show live on ESPN.
Oscar Delp hails from Cumming, Ga. Last season, he played in all 14 games, starting 10 times, and totaled 24 catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns.
Ben Yurosek, who is from Bakersfield, Calif., transferred to Georgia earlier this year after graduating from Stanford. As a senior, he started all six games he saw action in, finishing the season with 239 yards on 16 receptions and 53 yards on 11 rushes.
Last season, UGA football tight end Brock Bowers claimed the John Mackey Award for a record second-consecutive season.
Georgia is set to open the 2024 season against the Clemson Tigers in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday, Aug. 31. The game will be televised live by ABC at noon ET (Buy Tickets).
