Beau Gardner named to 2024 Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List
UGA football long snapper Beau Gardner has been named to the 2024 Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission has announced.
The award is named after Patrick Mannelly, who is widely regarded as the best long snapper in the modern NFL era. It’s given annually to the nation’s best long snapper in college football.
Gardner (6-5, 258) is a graduate student who hails from San Francisco, Calif. He graduated from UCLA and transferred to UGA earlier this year.
Georgia’s starting long snapper, William Mote, declared for the NFL Draft this spring. Beau Gardner will have a chance to win the starting spot in Athens and will go up against incoming freshman Luke Raab, the No. 6 ranked long snapper by Khol’s Kicking Camp, in the 2024 recruiting class.
The Georgia Bulldogs are set to open the 2024 season against the Clemson Tigers in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday, Aug. 31. The game will be televised live by ABC at noon ET (Buy Tickets).
