Four Georgia Bulldogs have been named to the 2024 Outland Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced on Tuesday.
Bulldogs named to the 2024 Outland Trophy Watch List include offensive tackle Xavier Truss, guard Tate Ratledge, defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse, and guard Dylan Fairchild.
The Outland Trophy is awarded to the nation’s best interior lineman as voted by the FWAA.
The winner of the 79th Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN in December. The official presentation to the winner will be made in Omaha, Neb., at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner in early 2025.
Xavier Truss, a 6-foot-7, 320-pound senior, is a West Warwick, R.I., native. Truss started every game at tackle and was a Second-Team All-SEC selection by the coaches in 2023.
Tate Ratledge, a 6-foot-6, 315-pound senior out of Rome, Ga., started at right guard in 13 of 14 games last season, missing the Georgia Tech game with an injury. Ratledge was a Second-Team All-America selection by AP and was a First-Team All-SEC selection.
Nazir Stackhouse, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound senior from Stone Mountain, Ga., started on the defensive line in every game last season. Stackhouse recorded 24 total tackles and was a Second-Team All-SEC choice.
Dylan Fairchild, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound junior frum Cumming, Ga., started 10 games at left guard last season, while making an appearance in all 14 contests.
The Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 against the Clemson Tigers in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
