Carson Beck, Trevor Etienne named to 2024 Maxwell Award Watch List

UGA football quarterback Carson Beck and running back Trevor Etienne have both been named to the 2024 Maxwell Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club has announced.

The Maxwell Award, named after Robert W. β€œTiny” Maxwell, is an annual award given to the college football player of the year.

Other SEC football players named to the 2024 Maxwell Award Watch List include Jalen Milroe (QB, Alabama), Jacquez Hunter (RB, Auburn), Graham Mertz (QB, Florida), Garrett Nussmeier (QB, LSU), Kyren Lacy (WR, LSU), Brady Cook (QB, Missouri), Luther Burden (WR, Missouri), Jackson Arnold (QB, Oklahoma), Jaxson Dart (QB, Ole Miss), Raheim Sanders (RB, South Carolina), Nico Iamaleava (QB, Tennessee), Quinn Ewers (QB, Texas), and Conner Weigman (QB, Texas A&M).

The winner of the 2024 Maxwell Award will be announced live on ESPN at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show in December.

Carson Beck and Trevor Etienne headline a Georgia Bulldogs club that played in the SEC Championship and defeated Florida State, 63-3, in the Orange Bowl last season. The Bulldogs finished the season 13-1 overall (8-0 SEC).

The Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 against the Clemson Tigers in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
