Mason Short commits to UGA football for 2025 class
Mason Short, a four-star offensive lineman from Evans, Ga., has committed to UGA football for the class of 2025.
Short was previously committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, but decommitted following head coach Nick Saban’s retirement. On Friday morning, Short announced his commitment to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Mason Short (6-7, 295) currently plays for Evans High School. He committed to Georgia over offers from several top schools, with Clemson, Kentucky, and Ohio State in his final four.
Short spoke with UGASports.com shortly after his visit to Athens on March 16.
“They’re texting me and calling me every single morning at this point,” Short told Jed May of UGASports.com. “Like I said, it’s getting to a point where none of this is going to happen anymore in a couple of months. They’re trying their best right now to just kind of instill in me and have that Georgia G in my head all day.”
In the 247Sports Composite, Mason Short is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 8 inside offensive lineman, and the No. 178 overall recruit in the country for 2025.
Rivals.com also rates Mason Short as a four-star recruit, the No. 10 offensive tackle, and the No. 87 recruit in the nation.
With the addition of Mason Short, Georgia now has six commitments for the class of 2025. UGA’s class is currently ranked 15th in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
