Bulldogs to play at Wake Forest in second round of 2024 NIT

The Georgia Bulldogs will travel to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the second round of the NIT, it was announced on Wednesday.

Georgia and Wake Forest will square off on Sunday, March 24 at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. The game will tipoff at 4:00pm ET and it will be televised on ESPN2.

The Bulldogs hosted the Demon Deacons earlier this season at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs won that contest, 80-77, which was the second game of a home-and-home series that began in 2022.

Georgia, a No. 4 seed in the NIT, defeated the Xavier Musketeers, 78-76, on Tuesday night in Athens. No 1 seed Wake Forest defeated the Appalachian State Mountaineers, 87-76, on Wednesday to advance to the second round.

Should the Bulldogs defeat Wake Forest, they would advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 2 to face the winner of the Ohio State-Virginia Tech matchup. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship game of the 2024 NIT will be played at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.
