Sedrick Van Pran awarded 2023 SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy
UGA football junior offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran has been named the winner of the 2023 Jacobs Blocking Trophy, the SEC announced on Wednesday.
The Jacobs Blocking Trophy is awarded by the SEC each season to the leagues’ best blocker, as voted by the leagues’ coaches. The award is named in honor of William P. Jacobs, son of the founder and president of Presbyterian College.

Van Pran has helped pave the way for a Georgia offense that averages 38.4 points per game (No. 9 nationally). The Bulldogs are on pace to record the school’s best marks in history in average yards per play (7.12, No. 7 nationally) and average yards per game (482.9, No. 8 nationally).
Sedrick Van Pran (6-4, 310) is a native of New Orleans, La. (Warren Easton High School). Van Pran has started at center in all 13 games for the Bulldogs this season. He has also been named a finalist for the 2023 Rimington Trophy.
The sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (12-1) are set to face the fifth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (13-0) in the Capital One Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023. The game will be televised by ESPN at 4:00pm ET.
