Nazir Stackhouse, Peyton Woodring named Co-SEC Players of the Week
UGA football senior defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse and true freshman place-kicker Peyton Woodring have each been named Co-SEC Players of the Week, the SEC announced on Monday.
Stackhouse, who hails from Stone Mountain, Ga., was named the SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week after helping the Bulldogs to a 30-21 home victory over the 12th-ranked Missouri Tigers. Stackhouse, who shared his weekly honor with Ole Miss’ Zxavian Harris, recorded his first career interception and also added a tackle in the win.
Peyton Woodring, a native of Lafayette, La., was named SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the victory over the Tigers. Woodring connected on all three of his field goal attempts, including a career-long 48-yarder with less then four minutes remaining in the game to give the Bulldogs a nine point lead. Woodring was also three-for-three on his extra-point attempts.
The Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Nov. 11 against the 10th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by ESPN at 7:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
