Mike Bobo named 2023 Broyles Award semifinalist

UGA offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo has been named a semifinalist for the 2023 Broyles Award, the Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation announced on Monday.

The Broyles Award is an annual award that is presented to the top assistant coach in college football. Mike Bobo is one of 15 finalists that were selected from a list of 61 nominees.

The Broyles Award selection process includes the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), broadcasters, a college football hall-of-fame selection committee, and current college head coaches.

Below is a list of the 15 semifinalists:

FLORIDA STATE – Adam Fuller, DC
GEORGIA – Mike Bobo, OC/QB
IOWA – Phil Parker, DC/Secondaries
JAMES MADISON – Bryant Haines, DC/LB
LOUISVILLE – Ron English, DC
LSU – Mike Denbrock, OC/TE
MICHIGAN – Sherrone Moore, OC/OL
MISSOURI – Kevin Peoples, DL/Edge
OHIO STATE – Jim Knowles, DC/LB
OREGON – Will Stein, OC
PENN STATE – Manny Diaz, DC/LB
TEXAS – Pete Kwiatkowski, DC/OLB
UCLA – D’Anton Lynn, DC
WASHINGTON – Ryan Grubb, OC/QB

Finalists for the 2023 Broyles Award will be announced next week.

The top-ranked Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Nov. 25 against the in-state rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. (Buy Tickets). The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET.

Georgia is also set to face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2023 SEC Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 2 (Buy Tickets). That contest will kickoff at 4:00pm ET with television coverage via CBS.
