Smael Mondon was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Bulldogs with 11 tackles, including a sack and two tackles for loss in Georgia’s 27-20 win on the road against the Auburn Tigers.
Peyton Woodring was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week following his performance in the victory over Auburn. In his first road game as a Bulldog, Woodring connected on both of his field goal attempts, a 37-yarder in the second quarter and a career-long 38-yarder in the fourth-quarter, and was a perfect 3-for-3 on point-after attempts.
The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 SEC) are next scheduled to host the 20th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 7. The game will kickoff at 7:00pm ET and will be televised by ESPN.
