Ladd McConkey nominated for 2023 Campbell Trophy
UGA football junior wide receiver Ladd McConkey has been nominated for the 2023 William V. Campbell Trophy, according to an announcement from the National Football Foundation (NFF).

The William V. Campbell Trophy is an annual award that “recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.”
Nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, candidates for the awards must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of playing eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.
Ladd McConkey, who hails from Chatsworth, Ga., has amassed 89 receptions, 1209 yards, and 12 touchdowns during his two seasons in Athens. He also has 11 rushes for 178 yards and three touchdowns.
McConkey was named to the Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC team following the 2021 season and the Coaches’ All-SEC Second team last season.
The national champion Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2023 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against the UT Martin Skyhawks at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. (Buy Tickets).
