Four Bulldogs named 2023 Sporting News Preseason All-Americans

Four Georgia Bulldogs have been named 2023 Sporting News Preseason All-Americans, according to an announcement on Tuesday.

UGA football players named to the Sporting News Preseason All-America First-Team are junior tight end Brock Bowers of Napa, Calif., and junior linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson of Hyattsville, Md.

Center Sedrick Van Pran of New Orleans, La., and safety Javon Bullard of Milledgeville, Ga., were each named to the Sporting News Preseason All-America Second-Team.

The Ohio State Buckeyes lead all teams with four first-team selections and five players across the first- and second-teams. Georgia and Penn State had four players named across both teams.

The back-to-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2023 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against the UT Martin Skyhawks at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga.
