Georgia expected to play at Alabama and Texas in 2024, per reports

The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to play at the Alabama Crimson Tide and at the Texas Longhorns as part of their 2024 SEC football schedule, per a pair of reports on Wednesday.
Georgia will travel to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in 2024, according to a report by BamaOnline. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide last met in the regular-season in Tuscaloosa during the 2020 season, which was reconfigured due to COVID-19. Alabama won that contest 41-24.
In their most recent matchup, Georgia defeated Alabama 33-18 in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. However, the Crimson Tide still own the advantage in the overall series, 42-26-4.
Georgia will also travel to take on the Texas Longhorns in 2024, according to a report by Horns247. The two schools last met in the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, La. The Longhorns won that contest, 28-21, and now lead the overall series 4-1.
Texas is joining the SEC in 2024 along with the Oklahoma Sooners. The 2024 SEC football schedule will reportedly be a “bridge” schedule while the conference works on a long-term scheduling format as a 16-team conference.
Georgia’s complete list of SEC opponents for the 2024 season will officially be announced tonight at 7:00pm ET on a special primetime show on the SEC Network. Dates for those games will be announced at a later date.
