Jalen Carter, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, has been selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft (9th overall).

Carter was a key cog in the defensive line that helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back College Football Playoff National Championships in 2021 and 2022.

Following the 2022 season, Carter was named a First-Team All-American by the Associated Press, FWAA, Walter Camp, and Sporting News. He was also named to the Associated Press and Coaches’ All-SEC First Team and was a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award.

Last season, Carter played in 13 games and totaled 32 tackles and 31 quarterback hurries. He had a career-high seven tackles in a road victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs and recorded a sack against Tennessee, Mississippi State, and LSU.

A native of Apopka, Fla. (Apopka High School), Jalen Carter signed with Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs as part of the 2020 recruiting class. He was a 247Sports.com composite five-star prospect and was ranked as the No. 18 player nationally.

The NFL has not released the 2023 schedule yet, but will likely do that the week of May 8. However, Philadelphia’s opponents for the 2023 season have been set and can be viewed at the link below:
