Demello Jones commits to UGA football for 2024 class

Demello Jones, a four-star athlete from Swainsboro, Ga., has committed to UGA football for the class of 2024.

Jones committed to Kirby Smart and the back-to-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs on Friday following a spring practice visit in Athens.

Demello Jones (6-1, 176) currently plays for Swainsboro High School. He committed to UGA over Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, plus several other top schools.

In the 247Sports Composite, Demello Jones is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 18 athlete, and the No. 194 overall recruit in the country for 2024.

Rivals.com also rates Demello Jones as a four-star recruit, the No. 8 athlete, and the No. 122 overall recruit for the 2024 class.

“Like most kids growing up in Georgia, you want to have that opportunity to play in between the hedges, with that G on your helmet,” Jones told UGASports.com.

With the addition of Jones, the Georgia Bulldogs now have ten commitments for the class of 2024. UGA’s 2024 class is currently ranked first in the 247Sports Team Rankings ahead of LSU, Notre Dame, Florida State, and Michigan.
