Georgia remains atop the AP Poll after win over Vanderbilt

The Georgia Bulldogs, who defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 55-0 on Saturday, have remained atop the AP Poll and moved into first in the Coaches Poll for Week 8.

Georgia received 1,530 points in the AP Poll, which is five less than they received last week. The Bulldogs received 31 first-place votes compared to 20 for the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and 11 for the Tennessee Volunteers (third AP, fourth Coaches).

Alabama fell to sixth in both polls after falling to Tennessee in Knoxville, 52-49. Michigan (fourth) and Clemson (fifth) round out the top five of the AP Poll this week.

In the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs moved up one spot to No. 1. Georgia received 1,550 points and 43 first-place votes.

The Bulldogs’ next game is against the Florida Gators on Saturday, Oct. 29 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The game will be televised by CBS at 3:30pm ET.
