Georgia ranked 3rd in 2022 preseason Coaches Poll

The national champion Georgia Bulldogs are ranked 3rd in the 2022 preseason Coaches Poll Top 25. UGA, which finished 14-1 overall and 8-0 in the SEC in 2021, received six first-place votes and a total of 1,542 points.

Two of Georgia’s opponents in 2022 are ranked in the preseason poll. The Oregon Ducks are ranked 12th and the Kentucky Wildcats are ranked 21st.

The Alabama Crimson Tide top the preseason Top 25 rankings with 54 of the 65 first-place votes and 1,634 points overall. SEC teams ranked in the Top 25 include Alabama (1st), Georgia, (3rd), Texas A&M (7th), Kentucky (21st), Arkansas (23rd), and Ole Miss (24th).

The SEC leads all conferences with six teams in the Top 25 poll. The ACC follows with five ranked teams.

The Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2022 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 against the Oregon Ducks in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
