UGA football redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran has been named to the 2022 Rimington Trophy Watch List, the Rimington Trophy Committee has announced.

Van Pran is one of 40 centers named to the Rimington list and one of six players from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) included. Other SEC centers named to the list include Ricky Stromberg (Sr., Arkansas), Nick Brahms (Sr., Auburn), Kingsley Eguakun (RSo., Florida), LaQuinston Sharp (RSr., Mississippi State), and Bryce Foster (So., Texas A&M).

The Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC lead the Rimington Trophy Watch List with six nominations each, followed by the ACC and Pac-12 with five each.

The Rimington Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding center in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The winner is chosen by determining the consensus All-American center from three existing All-America teams: Walter Camp Foundation (WCF), Sporting News (SN), and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).

Sedrick Van Pran (6-4, 310) is a native of New Orleans, La. (Warren Easton High School). Last season as a redshirt freshman, Van Pran started at center in all 15 games for the Bulldogs.

The national champion Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2022 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 against the Oregon Ducks in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
